Course Information:

  • Office Hours: 1pm-2pm on Tuesdays and 11am-12pm on Thursdays, or by appointment
  • Textbook: Numerical Linear Algebra, by L.N. Trefethen and D. Bau, III. (SIAM)
  • Reference text: Applied Numerical Linear Algebra, by J.W. Demmel (SIAM)
  • Prerequisite: Familiar with the main concepts in Linear Algebra, able to carry out basic mathematical analysis and derivation
Grading:
40%: Homework assignments
30%: Midterm exam (on October 15, 2009)
30%: Take-home final
